The role We are looking to recruit a dynamic Carpenter/Multi-trade Engineer to join our team. You will deliver exceptional customer service and support the Maintenance team. What you will be doing Install fire doors in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and standards, ensuring proper fitting, alignment, and functionality. Conduct fire door inspections, assessing their condition and identifying any deficiencies or areas of non-compliance. Carry out repairs and maintenance work on fire doors, including replacing damaged components, adjusting closers, and addressing issues with hinges, seals, or glazing. Install and test fire-rated hardware, such as panic bars, hinges, latches, and locks, ensuring they meet fire safety requirements. Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians or plumbers, to coordinate projects involving fire doors and their integration with other building systems. Provide guidance and advice to clients and colleagues on fire door regulations, standards, and best practices. Document and maintain accurate records of fire door installations, repairs, and inspections. Stay updated on the latest fire safety regulations and industry trends related to fire doors, attending training sessions or workshops as necessary. Adhere to health and safety protocols, following proper procedures to ensure personal safety and that of others on the job site. Travel between jobs in and around London. Update jobs via eworks portal ensuring reports are written thoroughly and good quality pictures are taken. Where jobs are to be quoted for to provide a report with the materials needed, and time needed to carry out the further repairs along with a description of the issue and the sets needs to rectify the issue. Requirements About you You are multi skilled within the construction trade. Joinery: 5 years (preferred) Ability to carry out carpentry and joinery duties to a high standard. Have your own tool kit. Clean valid UK driving licence- we will check prior to interview Trustworthy and always carry out a high standard of work Flexible. Ability to diagnose and carry out repairs whilst on site including ability to source materials required. Able to prove high standard of work through client references.
